Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation Therapy

Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation Therapy in Greenville, SC

Fight viral infections safely and effectively
Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI) is used to kill bacteria and viruses in the blood while simultaneously boosting your immune system.  During the procedure viruses are damaged by the UV light, leaving behind viral particles that then trigger a vaccination-like response to the pathogen.

What is the procedure?
We start by drawing the patients’ blood and then combine the blood with a specially formulated mixture to prevent clotting. The blood is then circulated through a machine exposing it to ultraviolet light before it is delivered back to the patient. This procedure is a completely sterile and closed-loop system. Bacteria and viruses absorb more energy than blood cells causing them to absorb the UV light and become damaged, leaving behind healthy, unharmed, blood cells.

How many treatments will I need?
Typically, UBI therapy consists of multiple treatments. Many factors such as illness, age, and overall health go into determining the number of treatments a patient will need. Meeting with our specialized providers will help determine the number of treatments needed and create a customized care plan for you.

We serve patients from Greenville, Piedmont, Mauldin, Taylors, Greer, Easley and nearby areas.
